O'Connors Campers Vans

VW Campervans were designed and built in the 1960's and 70's when environmental concerns didn't exist - we were all focused on how wide our flares were. Pete has rescued vans from rusty graves and restored them using original recycled parts where possible. Uma was a log store in her previous life and would have ended her days sinking into the ground if Pete hadn't recycled her.

Although we cannot currently do anything about the petrol guzzling that the vans do, we can salve our consciences and plant some trees. Instead of planting them in Africa we thought we might plant them here in the South West. We have teamed up with Moor Trees, a local charity who create and restore native woodlands and plant broadleaf trees on Dartmoor and in the Tamar Valleys. Moor Trees ( www.moortrees.org ) grow trees from locally collected seed and provide education and training to promote climate change awareness. They are going to be planting about 90 trees for us this year so you can feel virtuous as you pootle around in your recycled campervan, knowing that your carbon emissions have been offset.

Our electricity supplier is now Good Energy who only supply 100% renewable electricity from wind, solar, wave, small scale hydro, and sustainable biomass, which is good to know!  We are always looking for ways to reduce our impact on the environment and if you come up with any suggestions we want to hear!

Zöe and Sam are really keen on recycling in the office and we try and ensure that the goodies in your hamper are as green and organic as possible.
