A Winter Tour

Through Devon & Cornwall

DAY1

Collect your van and set off for the North Coast of Cornwall, towards Padstow.

Padstow is buzzing even in the winter months, with plenty of shops and lovely Rick Stein’s Fish & Chips to draw the crowds.

STAY AT: PADSTOW TOURING PARK

Open all year, ready for winter touring. Great friendly site, with immaculate facilities and underfloor heating in the shower block! t:01841 532061 Ideally placed for visiting Padstow for shopping, eating and beaches.

DAY2

DISTANCE FROM PADSTOW:

28 MILES / ¾ HOUR

DESTINATION - EDEN PROJECT

Destination Eden Project – it may be winter-time but there’s still plenty to do!

Your focus today is The Eden Project. With a full programme of winter events, this attraction is really worth a visit. Their Shadows & Light display dances and twinkles each day from late afternoon and is included in your regular ticket price. Try a spot of ice skating or book to visit Father Christmas in his Eden grotto. Wonderful eateries besides and really engaging displays in the domes. Always a memorable visit, I would plan to stay all day. You could even pick up a present or two in their fabulous gift shop.

STAY AT: Bay View Farm

Panoramic views from cliffs overlooking the fabulous South East Cornish coastline. A hidden part of Cornwall reminiscent of Enid Blyton’s Famous Five. Smugglers Inn, Seaton is a great nearby pub. Mike is offering our campervans £1 off each night. Open 11months of the year. Closed 6th Jan – 6th Feb (get in touch for an alternative site if you are travelling during this time).

DAY3

DISTANCE FROM ST IVES:

54 MILES / 1 ½ HOUR

Heading for Dartmouth for some serious retail therapy! We love Dartmouth. It’s one of those places that seems to have everything: unusual and individual shops, gorgeous harbour-side views, a huge variety of places to eat. Just perfect. Lovely to visit at any time of year. Your campsite tonight is around 35 minutes away but is wonderful and worth the drive.

STAY AT: ROSS PARK

This award-winning 32 acre site has 110 pitches, but is well kept & immaculate with wonderful grounds and great facilities: including a heated shower block! Closed 2nd Jan – 2nd March each year (please get in touch for an alternative site if you are travelling during this time).

It’s just a 50 minute drive back to O’Connors Campers workshop on your final morning. Don’t want to go home yet? Pop over to the multi-award winning  Darts Farm boutique shopping complex near Topsham for some final retail therapy and a spot of lunch. Around 35 minutes from O’Connors, this is a real gem and filled with great shops and eateries. Dine at the main restaurant or try some fresh fish & chips from the Fish Shed. Fabulous!
