So it was all going perfectly… 5 mins from O’Connors, two happy children and the 40th birthday surprise for hubby still in tact! His love for VW Campers was about to make this a birthday holiday to remember. Then the clutch broke on our car (i thought it was campervans that were supposed to be unreliable!!??).
A MASSIVE thank you to Penny from O’Connors for coming to rescue us! The surprise was somewhat spoilt by our inconsiderate car but the following morning waking up in Ordell was so exciting chosen specifically because ‘he’ also celebrates his 40th birthday this year. A few wonderful days at Mother Ivy’s Bay, Padstow followed by an ‘overnighter’ at Tedburn St Mary gave us an all too short taste of how wonderful campervaning can be. I took an energetic 2 year old, a 6 month old and 40 year old along with me and EVERYBODY loved it.
I hate camping and didnt hold up much hope for this experience but how wrong could i be. I am a true convert! If you’re considering booking – DO IT! we are already planning the next one. My top item to take along…. Kitchen Roll!!!!??? boring? yes! But I am a housewife and mother afterall…
