We hired Ordell for a week to tour the north coast of Cornwall (Mum,Dad and 2 Kids), first night was spent at Headley Wood. We didn’t want to drive too far from Okehampton on first night but got lost so drove for 25 miles instead of 15 – at least it got me used to Ordell’s infamous gearbox. We had pre-ordered food from Woodball to save us cooking on the first night and it turned out to be one of the nicest meals we had (the Lamb in Claret was delicous). The rest of the week was spent at various sites from Tintagel (lovely site at Headland, lovely meal at Juliano’s, lovely breakfast at King Arthurs Arms) to Trethiggey Touring Park near Newquay (well kept site, friendly people, best showers of the week) to Padstow Touring Park (nice walk into Padstow, showers poor and a bit expensive) and finally ended up at Sandymouth Caravan Park just north of Bude (the find of the week, pool on site, night time entertainment, lovely food, best view of the week all for £15, bargain, recomended for anyone with children). Drove Ordell every day except for the Tuesday and found him to be the hardest vehicle to drive in my life but not in an unkind way you just have to learn to drive all over again, anticipate bends and corners 50 yards further back than you would do in a modern car, get ready to change down gears halfway up the many hills but most of all have confidence in yourself. Trust me have a go – you will fall in love with driving all over again and you will definteley fall in love with Ordell.
