Everyone loves VW campervans and motorhomes and we get lots of enquiries from younger drivers who are keen to hire. We are governed by what our insurers will allow in terms of age and experience, so this is the deal:
This applies to our VW Campervans, Larger Campervans and Motorhomes
All drivers between 21 and 79 can be insured (over 79’s do give us a call and we can often successfully refer you to our insurers). You’ll need to be driving on a full, clean, UK license and to have held your license for more than two years. If you have any driving endorsements, you need to let us know in advance. These will incur a small extra daily charge. All drivers are subject to a full DVLA check which will display any current endorsements. These will incur a small extra daily charge. If you hold a foreign license, there is an extra insurance charge of £2.50, per driver, per day.
The standard excess is £1,000 but can be reduced to £350 with the Collision Damage Reducer (£7 per day).
If you are between 21 years old and 25 years old we can insure you to drive one of our vans. Subject to the same conditions above, but the excess cannot be reduced using our regular Collision Damage Waiver options. There is also a young driver charge of £5 per day. We will also need to let our insurers know if you are a student in full time education.
