We just had to share the awesome time we spent with Barbarossa on our weekend together, quite possibly the best birthday present in the world… ever from my husband! Once we’d picked up the old gent, (Barbarossa, not Jason :o) ) we headed off towards the Atlantic Highway for the scenic route to Padstow. We spent 2 nights in the Padstow Touring Park with about a 20 minute walk into the village, it was the perfect distance to work up an appetite for some of Rick Steins fish and chips, pasties, afternoon tea, eleveneses, second breakfasts (you get the picture!).
For our last night we headed up to Harford Bridge via Tintagel on the recommendation of Zoe and previous Barbarossa guests, we pitched up at a beautiful spot by the river under the trees. One of the best moments of the trip was having a cup of tea in Barbarossa with his roof open looking up at the trees with the sound of the river in the background.
If the daytime was pretty awesome, the night was even better, as it was crystal clear and the sky was full of stars. However, the ultimate star of the weekend was Barbarossa, he put up with my knack of forgetting which gear I’m driving in without complaint, he never failed to start and was the perfect gentleman pootling along the country lanes. Thanks to Zoe and everyone at O’Connors Campers, we had a fab time with Barbarossa- see you next summer!”
