First time in England, first time camping, first time driving with an old VW camper van. We loved it! How can it even get better next time? Melissa introduced us in depth to Wolverine.
We were nervous before departing, especially because we as Swiss people were not used to drive on the left side. But Wolverine took us through Devon and Cornwall like a gentleman and always with a smile. We loved driving along the small and hilly roads in Dartmoor and along the wild and sweet coast passing lovely villages and farm fields.
Even better was sitting in the van in the evening, cooking and enjoying dinner without having to stand up, easily reaching water, plates and wine glasses 🙂 We travelled from Okehampton to Tavistock (great local food at Peter Tavys Inn), Dartmouth (with lots of fog), Looe (what a outstanding view at Mike’s campsite, look at the picture above in the middle!), Tintagel, St. Ives, Newquay (campsite was close to incredible Watergate Bay, we had a sunset dinner at Jamie Olivers Fifteen Cornwall, wow! (See the other two pictures above) and back to Dartmoor and Okehampton.
Sadly, we had only one week for our journey, but we enjoyed every second. The hardest thing was to leave Wolverine back, because we wanted to take him with us 🙂 Thanks to Zoe and Melissa for their professional support and help! We hope we can come back sometime. Hanna & Roland
