Ice-Creams and memories: Lyla & Oliver
Daddy and I have just got back from our week with Battenberg – We loved him! I’m Lyla and am about to start school in September (I’m 4¾) and Daddy (aged 38¼) wanted to spend some quality time together, so whilst Mummy stayed at home looking after my baby brother, me and Daddy headed down to Devon and Cornwall.
I’ve had been really looking forward to meeting Batty – I was most excited about the prospect of sitting upfront! I got to wave to everyone and take control of the music! Everyone was so pleased to see us, lots of people waved and came up and talked to us. I didn’t think Daddy knew much about campervans, but by the end of the week he had talked to enough middle aged men admiring our “62 splitty with rock’n’roll seats and a pop-top” that he now thinks he knows his Westy from his Samba. I caught him wistfully googling “old camper vans for sale” on more than one occasion!
Our trip took us to Padstow, Newquay, Perranporth, St Ives and the Eden Project: I had an ice-cream at each and every stop and the campsites were so welcoming to the Old Boy (Batty, but also Dad). The trip was amazing; so many memories, and we’re looking forward to doing it again soon!
