Here is a photo of some of the trees that were planted earlier this year by, local charity, Moor Trees to offset our campervans\’ carbon. The trees were planted at Wedlake which lies close to Peter Tavy (about half an hour from Okehampton) in a remote part of Dartmoor. There are 3 Tors, cairns, hut circles and the Merrivale Stone Rows near by. There is a public footpath near the site that can be accessed from Higher Godsworthy (SX530769) if you feel like trotting up there. This planting scheme is supported by Natural England through their Environmentally Sensitive Area scheme. We are also grateful to the the landowner for actively pursuing native woodland regeneration and involving Moor Trees in this scheme. For more information about this and Moor Trees other work, please visit their website www.moortrees.org (Much of this text has been taken from the Moor Trees website – they know more about biology than me!).
