When I arrived at O’connors to collect Ordell. I was so nervous about driving a camper van. I really thought I wouldn’t be able to handle Ordell on the cornish roads or on any road for that matter. Have had a few ‘sticky’ moments with 1st and 2nd gear- but on the whole Ordell has purred, and rocked around the Cornish Lanes. And have managed to turn him around in tight spots. You belong to an elite club if you drive a VW classic camper- the amount of people who in other campers have tooted their horns, flashed their lights and waved has been outstanding. Many people have admired Ordell since I left the workshop on Monday. I feel as I’ve started a love affair with him, and when i have to hand him back on Friday morning- there could well be a tear or two in my eye. I’ve still got Thursday to go and making my way back to Devon via the scenic B3360 to St Ives. O’connors you have my madea dream come true for me the last few days. It’s been a truly amazing experience in every way. Many thanks Julie and Duncan Deuchars- oh and not forgetting Reggie the Border Collie. He says ‘Woof Woof’ i’ve had a great time.
