Andrew’s blog about his trip in the NBS reminded me we haven’t told you all about him. Here is a picture of him at one of his early outings this summer to the Innocent Village Fete in Regents Park in August. Innocent kindly invited us to the fete and we ran a stall where people were encouraged to throw wet sponges at each other. Seeing as it was 40 degrees that day, it proved very popular! The whole fete was a fantastic weekend where people chilled, listened to great music, tried out all sorts of old fashioned games, ate fabulous food and we were forced to drink pint glasses of Pimms. During the weekend we also ran a competition to give our New Blue Splitty a name. We had over 3000 entries and we spent the first half of September laughing at all the wonderful suggestions. There were some brilliant ones which we would like to use on the new vans due to join the team this Autumn and next spring… We loved ‘Bringer of Treacle’, ‘Shiny Norman’ and ‘Nice Guy Eddie’, but after much deliberation we decided the NBS just had to be a ‘Battenberg’! Patsy, the winner, was inspired by the huge sponge cake that was on display inside the van during the fete. Patsy will be taking her prize – a shortbreak in Battenberg in the near future. We will keep you posted about the new vans joining the team.
