What can we say!!! The most amazing August Bank Holiday Weekend ever!!!!!! We picked up “The Van with no name ” now known from here on in as “Red” up on the Friday afternoon and, like many before us and undoubtedy after us, set off down the hill toward the metropolis known as Okehampton town centre. However it took both our combined weight on the brake pedal to stop us from careering into the large line of stationary traffic (yikes!) now in situ at the bottom of the hill. The next four days involved basing ourselves centrally in Starcross, (Coftons site) Nr Dawlish with adventures to Cornwall and Dorset along the way, with a quick visit to Torquay thrown in for good measure. As you can imagine we travelled quite a bit up and down the A30 at our cruising speed of 50mph, just what was needed as it allowed us to enjoy and experience the delights of the secret society that the driver/owner of an air cooled camper belongs to (plenty of waves and flashing lights to other vdubbers!!!) Overall a fantastic experience, one that will stay with us both forever, many thanks to Pete, Zoe and team for making Phil’s 40th birthday such a special one.
