Just the most wonderful campsite set in a country park with lots of imaginative play equipment, hidden in the trees. You can spend the day exploring the woodland play equipment (all the family can join in) cycling along the forest trails and jumping in the lake with the pirate ship. You can even book (in advance) some of the more challenging activities (for an extra charge: High Ropes, Canoeing, Indoor Climbing Wall, Kayaking or Water Zorbs or Mega-Zip wires). The onsite pub/café is great if you don’t fancy cooking. Open beginning Easter until mid-September.
DAY2
DISTANCE FROM RIVER DART COUNTRY PARK:
27 MILES / 1 HOUR
DESTINATION - Bigbury On Sea
When you have finally exhausted the kids at River Dart Adventures, you might like to camp at a coastal location for your second night.
STAY AT: Bolberry House Farm Caravan and Camping Park

A small, relaxing, family-run campsite, with views over Bigbury Beach and easy access to the South West Coast Path. Open beginning April – 1st October.
You could book some surf lessons at Bigbury-on-Sea, (just 11 miles away) www.discoverysurf.com and while you are there, take a trip across to Burgh Island, visit the famous Pilchard Inn or simply have a fab lunch at the Bigbury Venus Café.
DAY3
DISTANCE FROM Bigbury On Sea:
36 MILES / 1 HOUR 20 MINUTES
DESTINATION - TAVISTOCK
Our last recommendation is a great spot for your last night.
STAY AT: WOODOVIS PARK

This site has a new heated swimming pool, sauna and children’s play area with organised activities such as archery and circus skills! They welcome dogs and it is close to a good family pub: The Copper Penny! This small & gorgeous holiday park has just been awarded Gold in the Visit Devon Tourism Awards. Beautiful setting and an on-site bakery! Open Easter to the end of October.
Time to return your campervan in time for 10am on your final morning. It is a 20 mile journey from Woodovis Park to Okehampton, taking you just over half an hour to reach O’Connors Campers.
Don’t want to go home yet? Visit Haldon Forest for a lovely walk and a spot of lunch, while the kids enjoy the play area. Usually you’ll just need to pay for parking if you are simply exploring the cycle/ walking routes. For an extra cost you might like to book a Go Ape adventure in the trees (12 years+). Those who prefer to keep their feet on the ground could try the Segway forest trails for a bit of high tech excitement!
